Here in the north east of Scotland we are spoilt with the colours that can change hourly in the fields and skies that bring light and texture to this part of the world. Having an interest in local history I love to draw on previous events that may have occurred in certain settings and use these as a starting point in creating an image whilst looking beyond the picture-perfect and create work that uses colour and texture to communicate an atmosphere on the canvas.
An introduction to the work of Katherine Rae
"Beautiful, they look encaustic. I love the colours." (landscape & seascape)
"Start working on a gallery or restaurant show! People would purchase these beautiful pieces". (landscape & seascape)
"This is gorgeous. The structure of the building contrasts beautifully with the loose watercolour." (landscape & seascape)
"They are wonderful and made the sending of them all the more pleasurable. Thank you!" (cards)
