Drawing and painting have always been an integral part of my life. Growing up visiting my grandfather's studio, surrounded by the smell of the paint and glorious colours, I knew from an early age that true happiness would always be found in the art studio.

I have always been drawn to landscape and seascapes. Here in the north east of Scotland we are spoilt with the colours that can change hourly in the fields and skies that bring light and texture to this part of the world. Having an interest in local history I love to draw on previous events that may have occurred in certain settings and to find forgotten places and use these as a starting point in creating an image whilst looking beyond the picture-perfect. I like to create work that uses colour and texture to communicate an atmosphere on the canvas.
